Preparing Tomorrow's Leaders Today
Youth Corps is a leadership training experience
for 36 outstanding 9th and 10th grade students in the Midlands (Richland
& Lexington counties). The 2012-2013 Corps begins in August 2012
and will end May 2013. In Youth Corps, participants will experience
nine different areas (modules) in which they will gain exposure
and opportunity. Each module is led by top community leaders
and will last one month; the students participate in about 12
hours per month.
In Youth Corps, you will…
- Start your own business
- Lead a community service project
- Help victims of crime
- Support actual legislation
- Discover careers of your interest
- Interact with the world of journalism
- Gain money management skills
- Explore the arts & culture
- Develop as a leader
